Champions for Excellence in Education
Building Bridges Education (BBE) is a Boston-based nonprofit that has developed an innovative model for transforming educational access and outcomes in postsecondary education for students in Boston, the greater Boston community, and beyond. BBE focuses on connecting historically marginalized students and families to higher education, with a particular emphasis on access, awareness, and pathways to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
Founded in 2019 and formally incorporated as a 501(c)(3) in 2024, BBE’s mission is driven by a research-based approach designed to maximize student outcomes by integrating college readiness programming with real-world educational experiences. BBE also recognizes that educational success is communal, and no single intervention or individual can create lasting impact alone. Rooted in the belief that true transformation happens when the entire village rises together, Building Bridges Education embeds this philosophy into every program. Through this collective approach, BBE cultivates an ecosystem of support where students, families, schools, and higher education institutions work in harmony to close equity gaps and open doors to lasting academic and career success.
